Here's how you can support!
So here’s the deal…
No, this isn’t Joe Biden. What a relief! It’s Danny Haiphong and I am here to announce that I am re-launching my substack! If you’ve followed and appreciated my work, this is a great way to support it for as little as $60 per year and help make my transition to full-time media work sustainable as we approach 2022!
Here you will find my independent journalism and analysis, all of which comes from a truly anti-imperialist and socialist perspective.
This includes weekly columns published in Black Agenda Report, CGTN, and other publications, original commentary and analysis, audio of published articles, as well as episodes of my two YouTube programs: The Left Lens and the Internationalist Transmission. My ongoing work with Friends of Socialist China will also be featured here.
A little about me: I am a working class journalist and author who didn’t convert to politics in the midst of a professional career. My analysis comes from experience and study. That is, study of revolutionary politics, theory, and movements and experience/practice within the mass movement. I’ve been a shop steward of several unions and have contributed to several anti-imperialist organizations, co-founding the No Cold War campaign. I’ve traveled to Cuba and China and place much focus on actually existing socialism and the defense of oppressed nations from imperialism.
Since 2013, I’ve written hundreds of articles on imperialism, class struggle, and white supremacy. In 2019, I co-authored American Exceptionalism and American Innocence: A People’s History of Fake News From the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror. In 2020, I published a journal article on American exceptionalism and COVID-19 in International Critical Thought, an academic journal based out of China’s Academy of Social Sciences. Both have been made available on Patreon and I plan on sharing these works in some capacity here as well.
I am deeply in gratitude to Glen Ford’s mentorship as well as so many others who taught me not only to adopt an internationalist and socialist worldview but also to study the history and struggles of the most revolutionary tradition in the United States: the Black Freedom Movement. It is this movement, and the broader class struggle, from which I deeply indebted.
